It was a case of kids helping kids when a group of students at Valley Farm Public School held a cookie sale this fall.
Mrs. Melissa David's Grade 8 class raised money through the treats sale with the goal of purchasing books for the Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital. As a result, on Nov. 2 they made a donation of 15 books to staff of the hospital Foundation, books from Scholastic selected with input from all of the students.
The books will be placed in the emergency department, fracture clinic and paediatric department for children to use while waiting for care.
