Red, White & Rouge All Over Gala

The Red, White & Rouge All Over Gala, March 30, was a mix of Canadiana, supporting your community hospital and ultimately, a lot of fun!

When it comes to comfort and that warm feeling of home, we as a country are proud to be Canadians and proud to live in the Great White North. That was the basis for Red, White & Rouge All Over, the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation’s annual gala, held at Deer Creek Golf and Banquet Facility in Ajax.

Along with amazing silent and live auctions, guests enjoyed a high-energy performance from Canadian musician, Michael Kaeshammer, who calls Toronto home, but has performed around the world. Many different towns, cities and regions of Canada were celebrated at this year's Gala and the Grey Cup itself, a symbol of Canadian Football greatness, was a special attraction also on hand.

True Canadian 'hosers' Bob and Doug McKenzie made an appearance, helping to make the live auction a fun sale. The 'actors' portraying these comedy icons were CKDO's Terry Johnston and OPG's Don Terry.

Gala Chair Sherry Robinson explained that of the many reasons we can be proud of this nation, one is for the excellent health care system we are provided.

Through this year's annual fundraising gala, the Foundation will be able to support the purchase of equipment and items to make the patient experience more comfortable, to make them feel “at home” while being cared for at both Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital and Rouge Valley Centenary hospital.
