Health Minister helps commemorate special occasion for Ajax Pickering's hospital
The culmination of years of planning, fundraising and construction turned into a wonderful event celebrating the opening of the RVAP Redevelopment, Feb. 17.
Held in the new Harwood Bistro, the event featured the Hon. Deb Matthews, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care as guest keynote speaker along with local political leaders. The event featured staff from both hospital campuses; auxiliary volunteers; physicians; RVHS hospital and Foundation board members; and patients and their families.
Of special note, Minister Matthews announced an additional $2.9M in funding for RVAP! Details on this are to follow.
Guest speakers representing the RVHS Foundation were Board Chair Jim Ward and Vital Links campaign Chair Gord Simmonds. Many of the speakers referenced the need for an MRI for Ajax and said that is where their efforts are now being focused in order to continue the work wo make Ajax among the best health care sites in the province.
