A TOUCH OF NEW LOOK OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT

Well here's something you haven't heard me say before (ha-ha):
I have a new pair of shoes! Pretty ones!

I love the fact that they make my feet look rather tiny. Not that they are big to start with, but I still kind of like it if they happen to apepar tiny.

I also have a giant rose.

Pretty similar to the black beret-outfit I did some time ago, but by changing the skirt one gets a totally different feel. This is loosely inspired by the New Look. Perhaps what I would have worn if I'd have been me sixty years ago exactly. And lived in, well, Paris perhaps.

I somewhere read someone saying you can't dress 'vintagy' unless you wear actual vintage or in some cases well done repro, but I claim that's not true - it's in the over all style and the details that the look lies; not the actual products. For me at least. Here I'm just wearing plain high street. But of course I'm not trying to be accurate or re-create an exact look; I seldom do, I only dress inspired by what I like.

The blouse is H&M (still haven't removed the zipper...), Skirt Zara, shoes from Next and betl from vivien of Holloway. The giant rose in made by Frollein von Sofa and the little beret is, as most of you know, by Molla Mills.

GIFTS AND NICE THINGS

I received a wonderfully sweet little present some time ago – a vintage cameo brooch from Agatha. Thank you ♥

We’re on the winning side now – they day is longer than the night and we are going towards lighter all the time!
It's such a great feeling to notice that it is light already around five when I get up for the morning shift! No sunshine, but a light sky and lots of bird song. The huge moon still hangs around until about seven. And the evenings are still rather dark.

So the swallow reflector brooch I got from my mother still comes in handy! It works with a magnet so you do not have to make a hole in your jacket in order to wear it.

Also, you have time until tomorrow night to vote for your favorite styling! I'll head over to the studio tomorrow, me and the other stylist will hang around in the background of the show, which will air live at 18:30.

You can still help me win you know, so if you haven't voted yet - do it! if you have, thank you, and please go again:)
Find my styling here. Vote by clicking the green Tykkään-button.

And...
Last but not least the nice ladies of Vivien of Holloway are once more offering all you readers of The Freelancer's Fashion Blog 10% off your onlone purchase. THe code is VOH_F4shionF4b and it's valid until June 30th. Happy shopping ♥

RED BLACK AND BLUE

So, now I'm off to TV1's Puoli Seitsemän show for the styling. The planning and my actual part was filmed last week already, I will just go there today to see things from behind the scenes. The show will air at 18:30 and you can watch it afterwards from Areena, but only in Finland I'm afraid. Longer versions of all stylings will be available on Olotila; where also the voting will take place, starting from tomorrow.

I'VE GOT STRIPES, STRIPES AROUND MY SHOULDERS. AGAIN.

I'm having a stripe-thing going on! I just can't get enough of stripes and I'm waiting to be able to wear striped tops with shorts, wicker bags and cropped jackets and bike around in the sunshine. Oh yes.

And, about the stuff; the following things in the picture are vintage: bag, chairs, table, lamp, beret

...and the following are not: top & cardigan (H&M), fridge (Smeg), shoes (last year's DinSko), skirt (Vivien of Holloway).

THE NEW PERFECT

You know this time of year I tend to start dressing up in colours inspired by the holidays... (and damn I was blonde last year!)

I'm going all red this year in my new pinafore skirt, from Vivien of Holloway! And I think it's perfect.

If you consider buying (my discount code still runs until the end of this month, if you still haven't taken advantage of it...), note that I got one size bigger than normally, to be able to fit anything underneath. Or well first I didn't, I had to exchange it - the larger size still has a good fit and feels nice with a little extra room, especially in winter when too tight clothing can make you cold. (There you go, some minor words of wisdom from me again).

The shirt is also VoH. (And, yes, for those who remember me thinking about it, I will most likely get the other one too, later.)

Good night!

ONE ABSOLUTE FAVORITE AMONG MANY

I seldom have the time to take any outfit photos of myself when going out (you know as in out-out, to a show, venue, party or so) mostly because I am always a bit late and also as my going out nowadays almost every time includes me performing somewhere.(Which means that I leave the house for the stage check in rollers and comfortable wear and do the dress up backstage at the venue.)

But, sometimes I do manage to get a pic taken - here's me in one of my favorite going-out outfits; a curve-hugging halter neck pencil dress with matching bolero from Vivien of Holloway.

I think it also works for more formal occasion, business meetings, lunches and such, as long as you keep the bolero on. You may remember that I have the same combo in red with white dots too, as well as a sateen sarong combo.

Well anyway, to the point; as you know Vivien of Holloway is one of my favorite brands, and the people there are really nice and helpful - now we've worked out this little thing togehter that should please all of you lovely readers:
You get a 10% discount when shopping online on www.vivienofholloway.com until the end of this year!

Use the code: VOH_F4shionF4b to get the discount.
The code can be used once and is valid until December 31st.
